Mercari accepts all major credit cards, Visa, PayPal, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Venmo, Zip and Apple Pay. You can also pay for all or part of your purchase using Mercari credits or by applying your balance to your purchases.

In order to avoid items being lost in transit, they require that all sellers ship using a valid tracking number. For your convenience, all Mercari labels automatically come with tracking information. If you choose to ship on your own, a valid tracking number is required in order to complete a transaction.

Please note that if you ship without a valid tracking number, your transaction is subject to cancellation, even if the item has been sent out.

All returns must go through Mercari. They want to ensure that the return meets the conditions of their Return Policy. If they approve the request, they’ll send a prepaid return label straight to your email inbox.

They can’t protect returning items on your own. If you do so, the transaction may be completed regardless so the seller’s funds can be released.

They ask sellers to ship an order within 3 days of the date it was purchased. If there are no tracking updates after 7 days of purchase, the order can be cancelled at the buyer’s request.

Buyers can also ask to cancel an order any time before it ships, but it’s up to the seller to agree or deny the request. If you don’t see the option to cancel from the order status page it is because the seller has confirmed that they have dropped off the package with the shipping carrier and cancellation is no longer an option.

You can find information about your order including current tracking updates directly from your order status page.

If it has been 7 or more days since your purchase and you haven’t received any tracking updates you can cancel your order by pressing “Cancel order” on the order status page.

Sometimes tracking will stop updating while the order is still on its way to the buyer. When this happens the transaction may be cancelled before it's delivered to the buyer.

When this happens, the buyer is refunded immediately at the time of cancellation, but the seller may be eligible for reimbursement.

If the tracking updates to show a delivered status or the buyer has confirmed receipt, Mercari will review the transaction to confirm the following;

The transaction was cancelled either by the buyer or Mercari. If a seller prematurely cancels the transaction they are not eligible for reimbursement. The order was shipped before the cancellation took place. Mercari does not reimburse sellers that ship an item after the order was cancelled. If the transaction qualifies for reimbursement, the seller will be issued payment in the amount of the sales profit. In these cases, buyers will not be re-charged for the item.
