None, the machine needs only to be plugged in and set up through the instructions on the touchscreen. No special installation or connection to water pipes is required.

The machine is designed to work as a closed system. You first fill out the tap water jar manually and reinsert it in the machine. You choose your drink by pressing a button and the water circulates from the tap water jar, through the filters, past the remineralisation and flavour areas and into the clean water jar. The water which gets rejected in the reverse osmosis membrane gets recirculated back to the tap water jar, so no drain connection is necessary.

Their machine has been designed and optimised to be used with communal drinking tap water. Therefore, if your home is connected to communal drinking water sources, then TheWell is ideally suited for it.

If your home is not connected to communal water sources (e.g.: you have a well), the suitability of TheWell for your home would depend on the quality of the source water. If it is of reasonable enough quality, then TheWell will work normally; however, if the water is of very poor quality it could affect the lifespan of both the filters and the machine itself, in which case we would not recommend its use. If your water does not come from communal sources, they would recommend that you test it first and share the results with them. In this case, they would tell you what to test for, and advise you on whether they believe TheWell would be a suitable option for you or not.

The filters should only be changed every 2 years on average. This however will be dependent on:

• Throwing out water from the tap water jar when indicated by TheWell (i.e.: not refilling it on top)

• Performing descaling programs whenever a “low flow rate” message is displayed on TheWell’s screen

If the flow rate of the machine has decreased significantly and/or the machine shows a "low flow rate" error, this could be a sign that your filters need changing, even if the 2 years have not passed. Please conduct a descaling procedure first (for more information on descaling, please visit our support page at https://drinklang.com/support/); if the problem persists, please change the filters.

Please note that the lifespan of your filters could be lower than 2 years if the quality of your tap water is very low. If you are uncertain about your tap water quality and its suitability for their system, please contact them at customersupport@drinklang.com.

The machine will let you know when the 2 years are about to be up, so you have time to purchase new ones. If at any point before this the flow of the machine has decreased significantly and it is not solved by running a descaling program (for more information on descaling, please visit their support page at https://drinklang.com/support/), it means it’s time to replace the filters.

TheWell will let you know that a descaling program is necessary by displaying a “low flow rate” message on the screen. The frequency of descaling programs depends on the quality of your tap water (e.g.: households with tap water with high levels of limescale will have to perform more frequent descaling programs than households with softer tap water).
