In his capacity as Director of Codification and Research, Dr. Cherrington carried out a thorough investigation to establish and expand the HR Body of Knowledge, which serves as the foundation for the PHR and SPHR tests. The two extensively researched human resource management laws, practices, policies, trends, and literature were aided by Laura Middleton in the codification study. To ascertain the relative significance of the various human resource topics, they also carried out a thorough survey of certified human resource professionals.

As the National Director of Exam Development, Dr. Cherrington examined and enhanced the test bank items for the HR Certification Institute.
