The Ultra Series can withstand machine-washing (preferably on a gentle cycle in a mesh bag, and then air-dried) approximately 25 times. The Pro Series must be hand-washed, though, as the spinning cycle of a washer and dryer can compromise the filter.

For unpleasant odors, they advise washing it using a few drops of hypoallergenic laundry detergent such as Tide Free and Gentle, and then giving it a light spray of 70% isopropyl alcohol on both sides and letting it dry in sunlight. Some of their customers have also had luck with placing the clean, dry mask inside a sealed Tupperware container with some peppermint Life Savers!
